Platanus rising

The tops of American Sycamore trees (Platanus occidentalis) rise high above the Capital Crescent Trail in a floodplain forest along the Potomac River 2 miles west of Georgetown in Washington, DC.  Photo taken during the early afternoon on December 28, 2013.  Click on image to enlarge.
